The K1 Project, Center for Nuclear studies, has engaged in a total of three research expeditions in the Marshall Islands in an attempt to understand the nuclear history in the region and analyze land and ocean contamination from US nuclear weapon testing performed on the islands between 1946 and 1958.
The K1 Project joins the international community in mourning the passing of Tony de Brum, the Pacific nation’s Climate Ambassador and former Foreign Minister of the Marshall Islands, in the Central Pacific.
